Yikes. Johansson is more of a playmaker so I wouldn't expect a lot of goals, but Duchene is pretty disappointing just about everywhere he goes it seems.

Did this all occur before or after you turned down Shania Twain?

I've been to Montreal when the Habs are playing in town, it was nothing to write home about unless you like bitter cold, dirty streets, ridiculous traffic and overpriced food and beer everywhere.

I would love to hear you talk more about the arrogance of Canadian hockey fans.

I think they're playing mediocre (to poor) hockey and have been for a while. Add the lack of all-star goaltending and they are what you see.

I watch a boatload of hockey (and have for years) and I just don't see a lot of difference between most rosters (superstars aside).

I'm no expert but if I'm right then how can this not be directly related to the environment the players exist in? That's the coaching staff, the GM and even the trainers.

Right, so why isn't he (Joey) playing with Eeli Tolvanen (a sniper)? Joey's an elite passer

Ek, the fans are angry. They're just not so much angry at the players that you want them to be, Johansen and Duchene, as they are at Hynes and at Poile for hiring him in the first place. Hynes missed the playoffs every year in NJ except for one, when the Devils went out in the 1st round, and, yet, Poile hired him, anyways, because of his ties to USA Hockey. It was and still is disgusting. Many Preds fans are calling for both to go, but not for Johansen and Duchene to go just yet. There's still hope from the fans that they can be gotten going with better coaching, particularly when it comes to Johansen, who was a solid 60-point player for 6 straight seasons until Hynes took over.

Remember when preds chose Johansen instead of Nuge and so many on here said RJ was the much much better player? Good times.

So as a Canadian, I'm apparently ignorant about the hockey scene in Nashville? I'm stuck in stereotypes? Hmm, not long ago there was a comment about Canada being frozen for 6 months of the year. No ignorance or stereotypes there...

As for Nashville, if these fans are so enlightened, then why would they start shouting about Duchene and Johansen being scratched? A Canadian fanbase would very quickly understand that:

1) Johansen is nothing more than a two-way 2nd line center. He hasn't scored more than 15 goals in a season for 6 years running. He's grossly overpaid.

2) Duchene had an unsustainable stretch in Ottawa where he was shooting at 21%. But otherwise, he's regressed for years and is just another 1-dimensional undersized forward. Also grossly overpaid.

3) The overall roster is mediocre. I know you picked them to finish 3rd in this division, with Dallas finishing 6th, I know a few ignorant Canadians that had that inversed.

Remember when Seth wasn't traded to someone in our conference?

I still like the trade. Odds are if he wouldn't have got hurt we would have won a cup.

If this happened in Chicago no one would be surprised. We expect them to tank and/or manipulate the cap for future considerations

No, you're just an unpleasant rabble rouser.

And by definition ("as a Canadian") you would almost definitely be ignorant of the hockey scene in Nashville - just like I'm basically ignorant of the "scene" in, say, Winnipeg (or Buffalo, or Miami)

We are angry and the reality is that we can't change the players and just hired a coach that doesn't seem particularly inspiring. The truth is that we will voice our real displeasure with our wallets by not buying the merch, game tickets (when we can go back), and concessions in our barn. At the end of the day, that's the only way to enact change.

The players seem like they are pressing and second-guessing themselves on the ice within the system being installed instead of playing. The players are comfortable and need a coach that will light a fire under their butts. I'm at a point that I'd be absolutely fine with someone like Babcock behind the bench here. They need a taskmaster they'll hate/fear to unify them

does anyone thin that the change in ho the game is now being officiated has a bearing? All you see now is the "interference" and slowing down players when a couple years ago the NHL stopped that. I see interference on every shift and they only thing they seem to call is when the stick gets into the hands of the opposition. Watch a player try to bust into the zone and the other teams defensemen get in the way and then the support comes and brushes him off....seems like they took the skating and skill back out.

Maybe, but then they may not have made it to the SCF.

How about "Should have never traded Weber away".

I'd follow that up with "Should have never traded Stubban away". I still love his game.

agree - though at least it's not "Drake Berehowsky laying on top of Peter Forsberg saying I'm not letting you up man" bad

that was a real thing that happened

I'd venture in saying Lindsay Vaugh might of derailed his game.....same happened to Tiger.

Speaking as a Leafs fan, I'd be honoured if a Sittler had boinked my sister.
